Hultsjö södra fiskevårdsområde covers approximately 300 hectares of water surface. Lake Övingen in the Småland highlands in Sävsjö municipality has an area of 240 hectares. Övingen is a nutrient-poor lake with sparse aquatic vegetation, known for its clear, fresh water. The lake is a spring lake belonging to the Lagan main catchment area. At its deepest point, the lake is 32.5 meters deep. The shores of Övingen are mostly steep and consist of rocky outcrops in many places. The lake is bordered by coniferous and mixed forests, fields and pastures.Övingen can be difficult to fish but holds both large pike, well-grown perch and coarse burbot. Anyone who learns to fish in the lake can experience a fine fishing. Burbot weighing as much as 5.5 kg have been caught, and perch fishing has been booming in recent years. The lake's whitefish population has also increased - which is positive for the lake's predatory fish.Hållgärds ö has a small farm and a 60-meter-long bridge connection to the mainland. According to legend, the island is named after a Dutch prince (Prince Hållgärd) who went into exile in the mid-17th century and eventually settled on the island. In Övingen there are fish species: Perch, Pike, Roach, Bream, Sutare, Bonefish, Mountain Salmon, Whitefish and Lake.Boat ramp is missing in Övingen, but boats and canoes are available for rent at Lövshults Tourist Center, 070-6329098, http://www.lovshults-fotbollsgolf.se/. The tourist center also arranges accommodation of a simpler kind - military tents indoors or in the hay on the hay hill. Bring your own sleeping bag.The lake has good opportunities for fishing from land. There is a casting pier at the bridge out to Hållgärdsö, which is also wheelchair accessible. Along the highland trail along the eastern shore of the lake there is a barbecue area and windbreak. The fisheries management area also includes the lakes:

• Furusjön (Perch, Pike, Roach, Bream, Sutare, Lake) Here it is possible for wheelchair users to fish from a jetty in the south-eastern part of the lake. The parking lot is also located there.
