Description
The Draven nature reserve is located about 10 km north of Lake Bolmen and is one of Sweden's most interesting bird areas. Breeding here are oystercatchers, spotted crakes, coots, water rails, black-headed gulls, bitterns, Eurasian wigeons, curlews, marsh harriers, whooper swans, cranes and graylag geese. Many different ducks, geese and waders also rest here during migration. Peregrine falcons have been seen at the lake and several other birds of prey feed here. In winter, sea eagles can be seen.
There is a trail with footbridges of about 9 km around the lake. Along the trail you will find two bird towers, hides and lookouts. For those who want to combine their hike with an overnight stay in the open air, there is both a shelter and an overnight cabin.
