The lake is 150 hectares in size, with a maximum depth of 13 metres. Around the edge are woodlands, fields, and marshes. Ärnanäsasjön is a nutrient-poor lake, overgrown with reed vegetation in places, and it serves as a surface water source for the Stockaryd community.
