Description

The Ristafall is a beautiful and spectacular destination in all seasons. During the summer months, the water rushes down the falls, which are divided by a wooded island. In winter, the flowing water freezes into a beautiful ice curtain that is lit from behind, creating a magical atmosphere. The waterfall, which is 50 meters wide and has a drop of 14 meters, is considered one of the most beautiful in Sweden. Depending on the season, 100 to 400 cubic meters of water flow down the falls every second. For the more adventurous, there is a cave on the island that can be visited during the winter when the falls are frozen. There is also Ristafallets camping and restaurant.

Ristafallet is located in Åre municipality and is south of the E14 and the railway in Hålland between Järpen and Undersåker. From the E14 there is a signposted turn-off that goes over the railway and past the campsite reception and restaurant. Parking is available at the restaurant and the campsite reception. Ristafallet Camping and Restaurant is responsible for the maintenance of the road and the forest area and therefore there is a parking fee if you come by car.
