Description
Sledding
Hammarstrand is famous around the world for our art track, colloquially known as the toboggan run. Hammarstrand is Sweden's tobogganing center where you can go luge, bobsleigh and skeleton in our artificial track as well as alpine toboggan and snowracer in our natural track. Here we list information that may be good for you to know when you are going to visit us to go sledding or to look at the facility.
Art track
Konstbanan, also called Hammarstrands Rodelbana, is an ice track where you can go tobogganing, bobsleighing and skeleton. When it was completed in 1964, it was 1200 meters long but adapted to be built up to 1500 meters. Instead, it has been gradually shortened because it is simply too fast. During its heyday, the track hosted three world championships and four European championships.

Natural track
The natural track, also known as the snowracer track, was originally built as a natural luge track. The main difference between today's track and the natural toboggan run is that it is covered with ice. Today's natural track is 1200 meters long. It winds down the mountain partly along the old artificial track to the old start at 900 at Bergskurvan (the sign is still there today) and partly next to the artificial track. On the natural track you can go snowracing and alpine tobogganing.
