Vessinge sandhedar, Naturreservat

  • Nature reserve
of 5 stars

Actions

Description

Vessinge sand heaths are a valuable sandy soil and a hot spot for biodiversity. Many threatened and unusual species have been found here. From the nature reserve you have a nice view of Lake Vessinge and the Laholm plain. The area is easy to walk but has no marked trails.

In summer you can walk in the open landscape and enjoy the beautiful flowering of meadow plants and listen to the sound of buzzing insects. In the air you can see swallows and other insect-eating birds hunting over the lake. Yellow sparrows and swifts nest in the open fields and visitors looking towards the water may see ducks, coots and herons, among others.
