Kättebo, Naturreservat

Historical maps from the early 1800s show the land type in the area around Kättebo as sparse beech forest and beech forest with small bogs. These forests have now largely been converted to planted spruce forests, but in the Kättebo nature reserve there are still small areas where the deciduous forest continuity has not been broken.

Red-listed species

The forest in Kättebo is home to no less than 21 red-listed species of mosses and lichens. Some ten regionally interesting species have also been found, making Kättebo one of the top locations in the county. For example, the endangered moss brynia and red pyssling lichen are found in the reserve.
