Description
A walk through Karsefors nature reserve offers many wonderful experiences. Here, along the old river Lagan, you will find both broadleaf forests and pastures. In spring, flowering wood anemones cover the woodland and in summer the trees' delicate greenery takes over.
Karsefors is easily accessible even by car, which has made it a very popular excursion destination. Near the waterfall in the east there are tables and benches and a cultural sign telling about the fall.
Marked path
A well-trodden path, Forsastigen, stretches just over 2.5 kilometers along the river on the south side of the reserve. The trail is marked with red trail markers and on your walk here you walk through both hilly forest and open land. The trail can be walked from two directions, either you start at the rapids and then follow the trail west on a hilly path or you go from the back of the church, across the field where you can choose to go either west about 500 meters or away to the rapids about 2 kilometers.
There is valuable forest here
Virtually all the forest on the southern bank of the Lagan River in the reserve is a key biotope, i.e. classified as an environment worthy of special protection. In the west, the grazing animals have created mosaic-like wooded pasture with open glades and groups of trees. There is a great variety of trees and shrubs in the area. Here you will find oak, ash, elm, linden, maple, alder, willow, willow, rowan, birch, elder, sloe, barberry and hazel. There are plenty of hawthorn trees in the reserve, which is unusual in Halland and Sweden.

Karsefors is located in Laholm municipality. Public transportation: Stop "Ysby" by car: Drive to Ysby from Laholm, continue through Ysby. Turn left at the three-way intersection and drive north. - collect insects, spiders, shells and other invertebrates without the permission of the County Administrative Board. However, individual specimens may be collected provided that it does not violate the conservation regulations and that traps are not used,
- organize camps or competitions without the permission of the County Administrative Board, and
- without the permission of the County Administrative Board, conduct scientific studies that contravene the regulations.
