Description
Hagön domineras av öppen ljunghed och fuktängar. Marken består nästan överallt av sand och i övergången till stranden bildas det höga dyner. Den långa sandstranden inbjuder till bad. I norra delen av reservatet finns även en mindre tallskog med inslag av björk. Det finns inga markerade leder men det finns gott om upptrampade stigar att strosa på.
Ljungheden dominerar området. På ljungheden finns svackor där marken är fuktigare och där växer arter som klockljung, pors och odon. I norra delen av reservatet finns en mindre tallskog med inslag av björk. Marken i reservatet består nästan överallt av sand, det förekommer även kalkrikt skalgrus på många ställen. I södra delen av reservatet, i övergången mellan ljunghed och strand, bildar sanden fem-tio meter höga dyner.

Hagön is located in Halmstad municipality. By car: From Halmstad and Laholmsvägen at the height of Andersberg follow the signs to Hagön's camping. By the road along the campsite and the sea there are several parking lots. GPS (WGS84): Lat N 56° 37' 55" Lon E 12° 54' 10" Public transport: Bus stop "Halmstad Hästskon Ö. Stranden" which is about 1 kilometer north of the reserve. In the summer, the bus goes all the way to the stop "Hagön". Bicycle: It takes about twenty minutes to cycle to Hagön, which is six kilometers from central Halmstad. Cycle south on Laholmsvägen. At Andersberg turn right onto Ryttarvägen. Follow the signs to Hagön's camping. Park your bike in a suitable place and enter the reserve on foot.
