Description

"Karske warriors promoted peace." These are the words on the large stone that young men from the village erected in Prästgårdshage in the year of peace 1941. It was in memory of the peace treaty concluded between Danish and Swedish chieftains in 1471 in Kungsäters Prästgård after the Battle of Öresten in Marks härad. Unfortunately, the peace was short-lived, which was not unusual for the people here in the border country. The location of the stone is due to the fact that the former vicarage was located by the church wall. Time has allowed turf to cover the foundations of the houses.

This attraction is part of the Kungsjö trails built and maintained by Kungsäter-Gunnarsjö Bygdelag.
