The nature reserve is located about 5 kilometers northwest of Robertsholm in Hofors municipality. The reserve is reached via a road and path in the west and east. There are two rest areas in the reserve, one at the end of the road in the west and one on the mountain in the easternmost part of the reserve overlooking Lake Hyen. There are also marked trails in the area.

Special rules apply in the nature reserve. It is not allowed to:

• damage any solid object or surface formation
• damage to the forest stand, dead standing or fallen trees, brushwood, herbs or ground vegetation
• deliberately disturbing wildlife, damaging or removing endangered or rare plants and animals
• drive a motorized vehicle
• camping, burning or taking firewood.
