In Göran Fredrik Göransson's park, you can spot an erect figure sitting on a chair raised on a plinth. The body language is robust and steady yet relaxed, with arms and legs freely positioned. Even the face seems caught in a rather naturalistic, relaxed position. The gaze is turned obliquely downwards and does not meet the viewer. It is as if the person in question is preoccupied with his own thoughts.

The person in front of us is Göran Fredrik Göransson, (1819-1900) who was an entrepreneur in industry. Göransson founded Sandvikens Jernverk AB, now Sandvik AB, and founded Sandviken in 1862.

The sculpture is made by the artist Johan Theodor Lundberg, who during his lifetime became known for his public works of art in a realistic style with an emphasis on expression rather than strict form.
