Lisselåsklack, Naturreservat
- Nature reserve
- County: Gävleborgs län
Actions
Description
The Lisselåsklack nature reserve consists of a beautiful shingle field with well-preserved embankments, located on top of a small mountain. Apart from a couple of very old pine trees, the field is practically free of higher vegetation. Here you can walk along the path/road next to the shingle field. The area is located 7 kilometers south-southeast of Årsunda and covers 2.5 hectares.
Shingle fields of this type are called stentorg and are formed when the surface soil of very rocky ground is washed away by waves. When this happened here, the sea level was level with the hill. However, at the end of the ice age, just under 10 000 years ago, the hill was about 60 meters below sea level.
The area is a fine example of this type of nature and is worth preserving, not least from a study point of view.
