To do
Three sections – one great experience. Gästriketriangeln takes you through deep forests, along narrow ridges shaped by the ice age, and across high ground with sweeping views
The route forms a triangle between Rönnåsen, Åmot and Jädraås – three places in Ockelbo municipality, each with its own charm and close connection to nature.
The newly built trail between Rönnåsen and Åmot offers a hilly, wilderness-like stretch through untouched forest. From Åmot, the hike continues through a historic ironworks area, past glistening fishing lakes and a secluded forest cemetery, all the way to Jädraås. The final section back to Rönnåsen leads through classic northern pine forest and across esker ridges – a landscape shaped by time and ice.
Each leg is around 20 kilometres, making Gästriketriangeln ideal for a three-day hike. You can stay overnight in shelters along the trail or book accommodation in Åmot or Jädraås. The entire route is marked and described in the Naturkartan app – just search for "Gästriketriangeln" for more details.
Here, you’ll find silence, vast views and trails that carry both history and promise.
