New ARK56 Trail Opening: Mörrum Cultural Walk

On Friday, September 5, Mörrum invites you to the inauguration of the Mörrum Cultural Walk – a new 2 km trail that combines nature and culture along the Mörrum River. The trail starts at Laxens Hus and features 13 information boards telling stories about the salmon’s life cycle, birdlife, Stone Age finds, historical fishing methods, and how the river has been restored to benefit both nature and people.

The trail is easy to walk and suitable for both children and adults. Just over half of the route is also accessible by wheelchair.

A new green meeting place will also be inaugurated at Laxens Hus, and the restored statue “Laxflickan” will be re-inaugurated at its new location in the river.

📅 Inauguration Program

14:00–19:00🎣 Try-out fishing in pools 1–16Free of charge, but advance registration required (max 30 participants).

16:30–20:00🌭 Mörrums GoIS FK will be grilling and selling sausages, hamburgers and coffee at Laxens Hus.

17:30–19:00🚶‍♀️ Guided premiere walk on the Mörrum Cultural Walk.

Around 19:30🎉 Re-inauguration of the statue Laxflickan in its new place in the river. Artist Jonas Glock will attend.

Advance registration for the try-out fishing is done via email to: morrum@sveaskog.se
Fishing gear (spinning/fly rod) can be collected upon arrival, from 14:00 at the reception of Laxens Hus. Fishing is only valid for pools 1–16. If you prefer to rent your own equipment, the regular fee of SEK 150 applies.
