Visit the bird watching plattform at Gisslevik wetland

Autumn is a
period when the birds prepare to move south for the winter. Autumn is also a
time when many bird species, such as sparrows and skylarks, gather in large
flocks to feed and rest before continuing their journey south. It is a unique
opportunity to see a variety of birds in one place.
A good place
for bird watching is the bird platform at the Gisslevik wetland. Blekinge
Arkipelag has built the platform as a hideout, decorated inside with hand-painted
life-size bird profiles and first-class information about different bird
species and the importance of wetlands. The platform is relatively easily
accessible even for people with physical disabilities.
The path to
wetlands leads through a paddock with sheep and horses. Remember to always
close the gate and show respect for free-roaming animals in the area.
