Are you planning to hike the Eriksberg Trail? Here are some practical tips to help you plan your hike.
The Eriksberg Trail was inaugurated just over a year ago when two spectacular bridges connected the former trails, the Allböle Trail and the Kohage Trail. The result is a coastal hiking trail just over 12 kilometers long that has quickly gained widespread attention, both in Sweden and internationally. Since its opening, over 50,000 hikers have discovered the trail.
How long does it take to hike the Eriksberg Trail?
The trail is quite challenging in places, with steep ascents and stone cairns to navigate. Expect the hike to take at least four hours, and feel free to add a couple of hours if you want to stop for coffee breaks and enjoy the views along the way.
Also keep in mind that the Eriksberg Trail is not a loop. You’ll hike from Outdoor Eriksberg to Björnahemmet—or in the opposite direction.
Can I hike the Eriksberg Trail with my dog?
Yes, you can bring your dog. Just keep in mind that your dog must be on a leash throughout the entire hike, as the trail passes through a nature reserve.
The suspension bridge may also be a bit scary for some dogs.
Book transportation with Eriksberg
Outdoor Eriksberg offers transportation between the Eriksberg entrance and Björnahemmet. This allows you to leave your car at Eriksberg, take the shuttle to Björnahemmet, and then hike the trail back.

Take Närtrafiken
You can also reach the trail using Närtrafiken. Depart from the Karlshamn Travel Center, where you’ll be picked up and dropped off near the trailhead.

Want to spend the night along the trail?
Along the Eriksberg Trail, there are two converted gun emplacements with views of the archipelago. One is open to everyone and can be used free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis.
The other can be booked in advance if you want to be sure of getting a spot.
There’s also a grill area and restroom at the gun emplacements. Remember to bring your own drinking water, sleeping bag, and sleeping pad.
