Ekopark Halle- och Hunneberg

At the southern tip of Lake Vänern, just east of Vänersborg, the mythical twin mountains Halleberg and Hunneberg rise.

Gnarled oaks grow along the dramatic mountainsides, and fragrant carpets of wild garlic flourish in deep ravines. The mountains have been inhabited for millennia, and there are many traces of the life of the ancient Västergötlanders.

Here you can experience miles of views and magnificent nature. Along the slopes grows one of Europe's largest contiguous broadleaf forests. Halle-Hunneberg is also known as the mountain of moose and as one of the country's most visited outdoor areas. Both Swedish and foreign visitors come here to experience nature, exercise or pick berries and mushrooms.
