Guddehjälm, Naturreservat

Enjoy a walk past a babbling brook and mossy ruins in one of Bohuslän's largest deciduous forests. The nature reserve is a favorite of many, young and old.

There are two well-marked circular trails, with several prepared places for a coffee break. The trails are easy to walk and 3.7 km long each.

Choose the blue trail and discover most of the old ruins in the reserve. They are the remains of mills and old crofts that have been worn down by time. Today, they are ruined and mossy, with signs about who lived there and how they lived.

Bring your picnic basket and choose the yellow trail to Skidammen. With a view of the pond's water mirror, bench tables and a fire pit, it's the reserve's most popular picnic spot. Whichever path you choose, there are many oak benches and bench tables to sit at (more than are shown on the map).

The area is a popular destination all year round. Each season has its own charm. For example, the leaves of the beech trees burst into a brilliant light green and the birds sing in chorus in spring. While in autumn, the forest explodes in various orange-yellow colors. Remember to keep your feet warm this time of year. The paths can be quite muddy.
