Baljåsen, Naturreservat

Highly undulating terrain with deep valleys that will make you sweat. Large forests and Dalsland's highest point with incomparable views.

This is what you will experience during a visit to the Baljåsen nature reserve. Continue on the hiking trail to the neighboring reserve Orsberget. Or why not spend a whole day in the area? It's just as hilly and the nature is just as beautiful. Along the trail you can read about and see the traces of old crofts.

The paths are well marked in both reserves and you have five square kilometers of magnificent nature to discover. Choose a circular trail or take the hiking trail; just over 7 km through both areas. At Mjölkudden there is a windbreak overlooking Lake Edslan. There is also an overnight cabin with two beds, a dry toilet and a wood store.

You can also spend the night in the cabin at the top of Baljåsen. It is usually used as a picnic area when the weather is bad, but there are two beds and a dry toilet. Bring enough water with you, as there is no access to it nearby. The cabin has a stove. Please bring firewood with you just in case, as firewood may not always be available.
