Description

Information board number 2 tells about the Trundhems mine

Silver ore was probably mined here in the 14th century, possibly even earlier in the Middle Ages. In older times, the mine was called Finngruvan. It is said that the name comes from a hundred Finnish men who worked for King Christian II at the Sala silver mine. This probably happened when mining resumed in 1520 when Denmark took power.
