Ammarnäs - Aigertstugan, Kungsleden

From Ammarnäs you can start from Naturum Vindelfjällen in the middle of the village and walk the bridge over Tjulån. Follow the signs up to the parking lot at Entré Kungsleden (Äjvesåjvvie parking lot). You can get here by car if you prefer to start here.

On the way up through the forest, mighty willows grow along the hiking trail. Here you can find the rare lungwort. A bridge leads over the impressive canyon through which Ruovdatjjuhkka plunges. The drop is just over ten meters in the narrow and winding crevice with giant pots. The view from the ridges down towards Ammarnäs and the delta where the Vindelälven and Tjulån rivers meet is also striking along this stage. There are several rest areas with magnificent views. This may be needed as the climb is sometimes quite demanding. At Aigertstugan, two nice cabins and a sauna await you.

A moderately difficult day trip through both forest and bare mountains.
