Description
The reserve consists of a sunken lake with surrounding moorland and woodland. The area has high ornithological values with several birds of prey, ducks and waders. The lake was partly drained in the 1930s to gain more land when parts of the mire were used for haymaking. There are several old remains of silage systems and hay barns on the bog.
