Rismyrliden - Sevärt

Rismyrliden is perhaps the farm in Västerbotten that best shows what an agricultural farm looked like in the 19th century. The many buildings were typical, with a house for each function. A farmhouse, summer cottage, baker's cottage, barn, summer barn, roundhouse, shed, tool shed, smithy, sauna, earth cellar, barns... This is what a traditional Västerbotten farm looked like, and this is what Rismyrliden still looks like today. Thirteen unpainted buildings from the first half of the 19th century are perched on a hillside. Up here on the hill, surrounded by forest and bog, there was less risk of the barley and potato harvests being destroyed by frost.
