Mesjödalen Nature Reserve consists of two steep slopes on either side of a centrally located bog. Mesjöbäcken flows through the bog. Spruce forest dominates on both slopes, with elements of herb-rich productive forests.

Reservat ligger mellan de två byarna Lakasjö och Nytjärn, ca 3,3 mil SO om Åsele. Området utgörs av två realativt branta skogsklädda sluttningar på var sin sida om en centralt belägen myr, genom vilken Mesjöbäcken rinner.
