Description
Visit the nature reserve for hiking in leafy natural spruce forest or go to one of the reserve's heights for a nice view down to Ramsan. The area is easily accessible as there is a crossing road.
The reserve is located about 4 kilometers west of Ramsele in Vindeln municipality and consists of Holmmyrberget's northeast slope and Holmberget's south slope. Parts of the western slope of Ramsberget are also included in the reserve.
The forests consist of deciduous spruce and coniferous mixed forest, rocky pine forest on the heights and spruce swamp forest in the lowest parts. Ramsan, a tributary of the Ume River, flows through the reserve. Along the river, there are a number of floodplains. These are floodplains that are nutrient-rich due to the addition of water from the river when it floods. People have long used these lands for grazing and fodder, which has created a high species richness.
In addition to hiking in the area, you can experience Holmmyrberget by canoeing, fishing in Ramsan, bird watching or mushroom and berry picking.
