Description
A summit tour with a moderate climb and wonderful views of the Sytertopparna peaks and Vindelfjällen nature reserve.
Sami Gurhke can be translated into Swedish as "one-eyed mountain skull". Nothing cucumber-like here then.
Follow the trail from the former Fjällgården in Solberg up to the top. The hike follows the cairned path up to the top which is at 895 m. Time round trip about 2-3 hours.
From here you can see the midnight sun on Midsummer's Eve. Since the horizon is clear straight north, the sun disk is visible at 12 at night from this small peak even though Tärnaby is 10 miles south of the Arctic Circle.
In summer, it is wonderful to end the hike with a swim at the beautiful beach in Solberg.
