Description
The Finnforsen power station, the first power station on the Skellefte River, was built in 1906-1908. The very well-preserved facility is today a museum and open to visitors in the summer. In the village that grew up around the power station lived at most a hundred people. There were three workplaces: the power station, the school and the carpentry workshop. A café was opened in 1925 and the power station built barns where staff could keep cows, pigs and chickens. Self-sufficiency was practiced as far as possible.
