Bornsmyran

Bornsmyran is an area of old coniferous forests next to the small lake Bottenfjärden on the Lövånger coast. The forest has a natural structure that is often lacking in our managed forests, with trees of different sizes and ages. There are trees that are significantly older than 200 years. The trees are allowed to grow old and die at their own pace, creating living space for many rare species of fungi and lichens that live on old trees and dead wood.

The south-eastern part of the area is particularly visitor-friendly, with stately old spruce trees and a walkable moss carpet on the ground. In the north-western part, the forest is denser and not quite as easy to navigate.
