Sculpture "Händelser på torget"

“Händelser på torget" (Events at the Square) by Ingrid Falk
The sculpture consists of a hand holding a pen, surrounded by paving stones inscribed with words, sentences, and quotes from 16 residents of Arvika — all selected from approximately 1,000 submissions collected during workshops and outreach in the spring of 2021 — as well as a musical staff by Björn J:son Lindh. The quotes and words in the stones relate to various “events at the square” — the text is decoded, with no named sources, and is intended to provoke reflection and conversation about the square's significance.

Artist: Ingrid Falk

Ingrid Falk, born in 1960 in Sweden, is active as an artist, installation artist, and curator. She is known, among other things, for her work with the artist collective FA+ alongside Gustavo Aguerre and other artists. Her artistic practice includes large-scale installations, photographic projections, sculpture, and video, often focused on site-specific themes.
