Locksmith’s Workshop

In Borgvik you can find the locksmiths workshop, a sinter building from the end of the 19th century.

The locksmith's workshop is a sinter building from the end of the 19th century. It contains a carpentry workshop and locksmith’s workshop in which the forge and some of the tools have been preserved. The forging business ran until the 1950's.

Today the locksmith's workshop is a part of Borgvik's museum and has a melting hammer placed in the southern area and a fully equipped forge in the nothernn area. The 7 ton melting hammer i orginally from Borgvik but was located in Gothenburg for many years. First for the Gothenburg Show in 1923 but then it was placed in a storage unit and forgotten. But on the 1st of May 1995, after many years away from home, it returned to Borgvik.
