Gamla Kraftstationen in Deje

A spectacular industrial building from the early 20th century, which currently is a cultural venue for art and music, or just for a cup of coffee in a unique environment.

Right next to the roaring Dejeforsen in Klarälven River, lies the early 20th-century building called Gamla Kraftstationen (The Old Power Station).

This industrial romantic building is today a fascinating cultural arena, with a ceiling height of 11 meters, and much of its original interior left.  The unique art hall is the center, and here is a lot of current contemporary art shown. Here, you are able to experience exhibitions with both width and height in various techniques and expressions, by established artists as well as new talents.

Music events are organized at regular intervals through the initiative “The Gamla Kraftstationen Music Club”. In case you want to be creative yourself, there is the “Maker station” at your service, where now and again workshops and courses are being held. In the small shop you can buy Make-your-own kits and create on your own - here on site or to take home. The shop also offers fine products such as teas, honey, jam, chocolate, books, handicrafts, etc
