Actions
Description
An old gnarled pine forest and miles of views provide great nature experiences.
The nature reserve has been established to protect old deciduous swamp forest, rocky pine forest and lush spruce forest. A significant area is included where management measures to restore and create natural values in younger deciduous forest have been planned.
Animals and plants
Several threatened and unusual animals and plants have been found in the area, such as the candelabra fungus, dwarf beaker lichen and giant fungus moth. The latter has a very slow spread and its larvae live in dead deciduous trees, mainly birch, which have been attacked by the lichen tick. There is also a rich population of deciduous forest-dependent birds.
