Ancient find, burial cairn

Burial cairn of 40 x 30 meter

The Swedish National Heritage Board has assessed the ancient finds of Västra Rud to be of national interest with the following justification:

"An environments of ancient finds with characteric elements of Late Neolithic, Bronze Age and Early Iron Age which pedagogically illustrates the oldest settlement history of the area.

Expression of the national interest:

Burial cairn, of which one is uncharacteristically large (40 x 30 m), stone cist, prehistoric fort" (the two latter are situated on Rudsklätten, on the northern part of Västra Rud, follow the signs. Please note that it is only the ruins of the outer wall of the prehistoric fort that are still visible.)
