Lär dig slå med lie!

When: Sunday, August 9, 10 a.m.–4 p.m.

Where: Hammarskog Nature Reserve, Lövängen in Toran.

Help mow the meadow in
Toran near Hammarskog and learn how to use a scythe while you’re at it! An instructor will be on site
with sharp scythes, which you’ll be introduced to there. If
you have a scythe you’d like to learn to use better, feel free to bring it along.

We’ll start with a group
introduction and work until 4:00 p.m. We’ll take turns mowing, raking, and stacking the hay
and aim to clear most of the area together. In addition to mowing with a scythe,
we’ll learn how to sharpen a sickle by tapping and honing it, as well as a bit
about why mowing is such an important conservation effort. Everyone is welcome!
