Viby friluftsområde

Viby friluftsområde is a nature area in Bålsta where visitors can exercise, hike, barbecue and enjoy the beautiful nature. Several associations have their base of operations here and the area is frequently used by schools and everyday exercisers.

There are three electrically lit exercise trails in the area of 1.4, 3.5 and 5 km. The trails are slightly hilly and wind through the fine coniferous forest. Challenge yourself on a bike on the MTB trail or take a round on the disc golf course. You can strengthen your muscles in the outdoor gym at the entrance.

The 1.4 km long electric trail can be rolled with a stroller and wheelchair. At first it is flat, but further into the forest there are some short but slightly steeper slopes.

Find peace in the beautiful and slightly hilly forest! Here you can wander along well-trodden paths, pick blueberries and mushrooms or light a fire at one of the area's barbecue areas. The forest is rich in species and is home to birds such as the chaffinch, nuthatch, great spotted woodpecker and skylark. Along the electric trail, the edges are adorned during the summer by orchid species such as Virgin Mary keys and night violet.

There are three rest areas with fireplaces in the area. North of the parking lot there is a barbecue area with a shelter that houses tables and benches under cover. A graveled walkway that can be accessed with a wheelchair leads here, but otherwise the rest area is not accessible.

South of the parking lot up a hill there is a barbecue area with benches and another barbecue area can be found at the bottom of the southern end, at the end of the Torresta nature trail.

Parking and disabled parking are available.

An accessible dry toilet is located at the parking lot. The ramp up is slightly steep.

There are many different types of activities that have to coexist in Viby outdoor area. Therefore, remember to show consideration for other visitors, nature and wildlife in the area. Periodically, there may be many visitors, which means that it can be crowded in the parking lot. Feel free to take a bike or bus to the area if you have the opportunity.
