Description
Hållnäs' largest burial ground with some 50 stone circles from the Iron Age. The most beautiful is the fine ship set with standing stones at each end.
Grönlundsbacken had a perfect location for Viking farmers in the 900s. It was close to fields, meadows, pastures, forest and archipelago. The beach facing the Bothnian Sea lay to the north, below the hill. Where Sågströmmen now flows, a bay stretched deep in from the coast during the Viking Age.
