Description
The Fageruddsåsen nature reserve is a popular hiking area right by Lake Mälaren south of Enköping. From the top you can catch glimpses of the water sparkling 35 meters below. The ridge actually consists of two forested ridges with open meadows in between.
From the parking lot you can follow a trail of about 2 km. The hike goes up through the spruce forest that grows on the hillside. Once up on the highest ridge, the hike continues through the sparser pine forest on the ridge's crest, up to a rest area with a fireplace. The trail then continues down to a marina and from there back to the parking lot.
The trail in the reserve is also part of the 15 km long Bredsandslingan trail. You can continue walking north towards Bredsand and on to Gånstagården on the outskirts of Enköping.
Services: Parking, information boards, trails, barbecue area, guest harbor with kiosk are located next to the reserve. No plowing in winter.
