Description

If you are interested in plants, visit the Bondskäret Nature Reserve. Around 400 different plant species have been found here! During spring and early summer, the land changes in all kinds of colors. Why is there so much here? The area is an old cultural landscape with many different types of environments. There are pastures with grazing animals, hay meadows, small fields, coastal meadows, marshes and woodlands. In addition, the soil is rich in limestone, which helps many orchids to thrive.

Bondskäret is one of two peninsulas jutting out into the sea, 1.5 miles east of Skärplinge. The other peninsula, Klubben, is home to Ängskär nature reserve. Bondskäret and Klubben are separated by the narrow Ängskärssundet strait, which is occasionally teeming with seabirds.

By the parking lot is a beautiful old iron warehouse. In the 18th and 19th centuries, iron from Lövstabruk was shipped out from here. Bondskäret is crossed by several paths. Walk on an easy gravel road or follow one of the paths. It is 1.5 km from the parking lot at the old iron warehouse to the northernmost part of Bondskäret.

Parking is available at the old iron warehouse, a large white building.

You cannot get to Bondskäret by public transport.

Bondskärets nature reserve is located on the coast, just over 1.5 miles east of Skärplinge.

By car: From Skärplinge follow the signs to Ängskärs camping.

In the reserve it is forbidden to:

destroy or damage any fixed natural object or surface formation
affixing posters, placards, inscriptions or other similar devices
digging up plants
bringing an unleashed dog
deliberately disturbing wildlife, for example by climbing up a tree or taking close-up photographs of a bird's nest or other nesting place
drive a motorized vehicle or other motorized means of transport other than on roads designated for this purpose
park other than in places authorized for this purpose
Camping or setting up a caravan,
Make a fire,
Disturbingly use a radio, music player or similar.
