Description
This route takes you up to the beautiful areas around Rostorp, but also down to Stångån. Mostly paved road, but also just over five km on good and nice gravel roads. Slightly hilly with a slightly more substantial hill from Stångån up to the wonderful little croft Vidaholm.
Cycle out of Storebro center along the old Hultsfredsvägen. Then through Stranden and the small path (marked red on the map) to then come out on the road towards Pelarne. The approximately 500 meter long path is bikeable, but a bit bumpy here and there (roots and some stones). Alternatively, skip this part and cycle directly onto the Pelarne road.
After about 4 km, just before Åkemåla, turn right onto the gravel road. Here follows a very nice and easy-to-cycle piece of nice gravel road that about 2.5 km later takes you down to Stångån and a really nice place for a break in the birch grove right next to the river (there is also a toilet).
Cycle south from Rostorp through one of the municipality's finest avenues and make a stop at the old, former sawmill environment, to the right of the road at the southernmost part of Lake Rostorp. A beautiful and peaceful place.
On the way home, turn off at Åkemåla and cycle back to Storebro via Tobo.
