Description

On a hill above Skogsö's old steamboat pier is the Skogsö Monument. It was erected in 1905 to commemorate the clash between Swedish and Russian forces on August 13, 1719. King Oscar II inaugurated it. There is a fine view of Knapens hål - the narrowest passage through the strait - and the Boo side of Stäket from the monument.

You pass the site if you follow the cultural walk on Skogsö.
