Description
Just south of the mines, the trail passes the outlet stream from Lilla Sirsjön. East of the road is an 80 meter long dam that was built to get headroom for an 8 meter high water wheel. The waterwheel has driven the pumping station and conveyor in the Hagaberg mines via a 300-meter-long artificial passage.
To improve the flow of water in the stream, the natural outlet of Lake Stora Sirsjön has been dammed up and the water has instead been led in a dug ditch via Lake Lilla Sirsjön to Hjulhusdammen. The water wheel was demolished in 1914. Apart from the dam, only the water channel and the stone foundations of the wheelhouse itself now remain.
