Ekåsabränningen

Three kilometers south of the rest area there is an 800 meter long side trail that leads through shingle fields to Ekåsabränningen and then back out on the trail. The shingle fields are the most powerful in the county south of Kilsbergen. They are located on an eastern slope 125-130 meters above sea level. The fields are 40 meters below the highest coastline and have been formed by the surf on the shores of the precursor to the Baltic Sea called the Yoldia Sea. The sea waves have washed away all the fine-grained material from the moraine, leaving only stones and boulders in the burn zone.
