Description
Hohällan is a scenic area and is a popular destination for excursions. The highest part of the area is rocky ground with sparse pine forest. The forest is old and there are many dead and dying trees. The area is located 5 kilometers northwest of Storvik and covers 18 hectares. Here you can hike on the Gästrikeleden trail that passes Hohällan nature reserve. Or take a break at the wind shelter and have a barbecue at the fireplace on top of the mountain. The forest and the view from the mountain offer great nature experiences.
Volcanic rock
The area is made up of the volcanic rock syenite. The nutrient-rich rock means that certain plants thrive in the area. For example, the less common plants forked fern and rock slime.
On the slopes below the outcrop, there is a mixed coniferous forest of the blueberry-rice type.

Naturreservatet ligger cirka fem kilometer nordväst om Storvik. Följ väg 80 till Storvik. Följ Hoforsvägen/Landsvägen genom Storfors och ta av åt nordväst på Korsåvägen. Den blir till en skogsbilväg som är skyltad till Hohällans naturreservat efter några kilometer.
