Räbrunnåsen, Naturreservat
- Nature reserve
- County: Dalarnas län
Actions
Description
A very old, pine-dominated natural coniferous forest grows in Räbrunnsåsen.
Here there are plenty of centuries-old, large pines, often with pine polypore growing on them. In the eastern parts of the reserve, the area is more humid, with overmature pines and spruce undergrowth.
In dense stands, there are deciduous forests that likely developed after a fire. There are also some willows, with the red-listed species lunglav growing on them. Räbrunnsåsen is one of the nature reserves where controlled burning is a current conservation measure.
