Bring your own firewood if you plan to start a fire. If you start a fire, you are responsible for putting it out. Let the fire burn out completely. Put it out properly, preferably with water, and stir it so that the embers go out when you have finished grilling. The barbecue is not a place for rubbish. Do not put any non-combustible rubbish in the fire, dispose of it properly by taking it home with you.

Fire risk and fire bans

Before barbecuing outdoors, you need to be sure that there is no fire ban. As a private individual, you have a responsibility not to cause fires. To help you take this responsibility, the County Administrative Board, municipalities and rescue services provide information and advice. The authorities can also impose a fire ban to reduce the risk of uncontrolled fires.
