Description
Starting in 1910, allotment gardens with cottages were built here on land leased by the Koloniträdgårdar i Stockholm association from Lidingö vicarage. The initiators were Stig Milles, brother of Carl Milles, and Sigrid Hård af Segerstad. Eventually, the Lidingö Sunday Cottages Association was formed and one of the cottages was occupied by Anna Lindhagen, a member of the Stockholm City Council and a pioneer of allotment cultivation. The colony has retained much of its original character and since 1987 is a so-called national interest for cultural heritage according to the National Heritage Board.
