Description
A unique forest gem in a urban environment, with lots to discover. The nature is varied with pine forests, moss-covered stones, steep slopes and wet woodland areas. Throughout the area are marked hiking trails with wooden walkways over wetter areas. In the woods there are a variety of wild plants and animals to discover, here you can see both deer, woodpecker and forest orchids. The evergreen trees are old and many pines have developed the rough bark called 'armour bark'. Over and above the natural beauty of the area there are great opportunities for recreation and outdoor activities.
In 2009, the council decided to establish a municipal nature reserve in Tomtaklint forest, the municipality's first. The area is also part of Natura 2000, the European network of protected biotopes.
