Description
From the Middle Ages until the 1880s, mines have been opened, destroyed and reopened in the Närstad mining field. The 407 m deep Mormorsgruvan is the largest mine in the field and is considered to be one of the oldest in the Bergslagen region. Here you will find remnants of mining, bar passages and "Fåfängan's canal", which led driving water to the Malmvik mine. There is also a nice museum here.
