Description
The hiking trail between Bönnern and Tjuttorp is easy to walk and follows mostly gravel and forest roads supplemented by well-trodden forest trails.
The stage starts at the scenic lake Bönnern where there is a barbecue area, playground, toilet and the possibility of swimming. Adjacent to the starting point is Bönnernskogen, a forest area with high natural values, including older pine forests. Bönnernskogen is also home to one of the country's oldest bowling alleys, built in 1858.
The Bönnern-Yxviken stretch is about 8.5 km. The stage begins with hiking on forest trails supplemented with gravel roads and exercise tracks. The trail passes the remains of the test firing site where Finspångs bruk tested its cannons around the turn of the last century. After 3 km, the trail passes Lunddalen, Friluftsfrämjandet's premises by Lake Bleken. After another kilometer you will reach the windbreak "Blindtarmen".
At Yxviken there are bus connections with Finspång's urban area. From Yxviken, the Östgötaleden trail runs on gravel roads and can thus be used both on foot and by bike. The stage finally reaches Tjuttorp where one of the municipality's more popular nature reserves is located. Here there is the possibility of parking and a rest area. Within the nature reserve there is also a shelter with a fireplace. Tjuttorp acts as a hub for the Östgötaleden trail. From here you can choose to continue the hike towards Regna, Rejmyre or further to Sörsjön in Norrköping municipality.
